Hull Blyth is proud to be one of the oldest shipping companies in Cyprus. As shipping agents, Hull Blyth has been involved in vessel operations, cargo handling, clearing & forwarding, container handling, haulage &  road transport, stevedoring, ship chandlery and chartering, thus contributing to the whole spectrum of economic activities in Cyprus. The first and most developed open port in Cyprus in the 19th century was Larnaca; but as later bigger and larger vessels were being built and cargo movements increased, Famagusta natural port which was much more adequate was reconstructed to cope with the international standards and it became one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean.
Later Limassol port followed and became the main port of Cyprus since the Turkish invasion in 1974. Larnaca port has mainly been busy with car carriers, tankers and only recently with container vessels. Hull Blyth represented the majority of the tankers which called at the port of Larnaca.
Vassiliko is a private port owned by the Vassiliko Cement Company for their coal imports. Hull Blyth has acted there as Owners' Protecting Agents.
During the Second World War Hull Blyth held the representation of the commercial vessels chartered by the British Ministry of Defence and since then Hull Blyth has been in charge of the vessels' operation of the ROYAL FLEET AUXILIARY (R.F.A.) and HER MAJESTY'S SERVICE (H.M.S.) who operate under the jurisdiction of the British Ministry of Defence and call at Limassol, Larnaca and Akrotiri ports for courtesy and provisioning visits.
In 1945, Hull Blyth took over the agency of almost all the 'TANKERS' which served the Petrol companies in Cyprus and which either belonged or were time chartered by the major oil companies such as ESSO PETROLIUM CO LTD, MOBIL SHIPPING & TRANSPORTATION CO, BP SHIPPING LTD, SHELL INTERNATIONAL MARINE LTD and other. Although the company's main activity was cargo transport, it also represented a number of passenger and cruise lines, since 1947.
Cyprus marked a remarkable progress after Independence from the British in 1960. Hull Blyth played once again a leading role by introducing new major lines which served the trade and developed more the import-export of the newly established Republic of Cyprus.
In order to serve the intensive effort of the Cyprus industry to increase the county's exports after the Turkish  invasion, Hull Blyth secured new agencies, making an array of flexible lines, thus catering for every type of shipment.
The shipping division is also the local correspondent of the majority of ship owners' PROTECTION AND INDEMNITY CLUBS since its early days of establishment. In this capacity at the main office of Limassol an experienced team handle the P & I cases, protecting the interests of the members, the ship owners and charterers and secure legal protection.
