GEROSKIPOU, CLAY POTTERY WORKSHOP LIMASSOL, CYPRUS
Board a comfortable motor coach and head into Geroskipou (Paphos suburb), pausing for unique photos at the Rock of Aphrodite – a captivating geological formation steeped in myth and legend as the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
The tour proceeds to Geroskipou to visit the Byzantine Church of Agia Paraskevi dating back to the IX Century. It is in the form of a small basilica with 5 domes that form the shape of the Cross and decorated in frescoes dating from the IX to the XV centuries.
This area used to be Aphrodite’s Holy grove and an important point for pilgrims in ancient times.
This area is also well-known for its Loukoumi sweets – Cyprus Delights. “Loukoumi Geroskipou” is the first traditional food product in Cyprus to be awarded with the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) under EU regulations.
